Gear for the band
There are a multitude of ways to give back at Music Therapy for Autism. It is important for us to be transparent with all of the resources you choose to invest in our crew, especially your finances. Our Gear for the Band is a curated list of specific musical equipment, office supplies, and general gear we need and use for our music therapy programs and events. If you would prefer to contribute to our general We Rock Fund, rather than donate a specific item, you can do so here. We appreciate your investment.

Please note, we welcome second-hand donations. If you have any used equipment you would like to invest into our community, please email us.

All donations can be mailed directly to Music Therapy for Autism at 308 Clairemont Ave, Suite S-320 Decatur, GA 30030. Alternatively, you can email us to coordinate dropping of new or used equipment. Thank you.
Bass Guitar

Our current bass guitar was donated second hand and has been serving us faithfully for over eight years. Unfortunately, it is constantly needing repairs. We would LOVE a new bass guitar for our clients to use in therapy and at our events.

A few options for the kind of bass guitar we're hoping for:
Lapel Mic
Up to this point, all of our video and audio has been recorded using an iphone and an old microphone. It would be amazing to have a lapel mic to enhance the quality and versatility of our projects.

A few options for the kind of lapel mic we're hoping for:

25ft Audio Cables (quantity: 5)
We currently have one long audio cable (25ft), which has seen better days. For all of our events, we borrow cables from our clients and Intown Community Church. While we are so grateful for their generosity, it would be wonderful to have at least 5 of our own.

Our ideal cable is the Mogami Gold Instrument 25 Foot Guitar Instrument Cable.
mic stands with a Heavy base (quantity: 5)
Durability is one of the key features we look for in our equipment. Working with young, neurodivergent people, we need gear that will sustain rough handling as our crew learns how to properly care for their supplies.

Our preferred heavy duty, universal microphone stand is the CAHAYA Adjustable Floor Mic.

performance keyboard
We would LOVE to have a quality stage keyboard for events and performances. It is important to have a keyboard will all 88 keys and that has touch sensitive features, so that it is most conducive for our neurodivergent crew, who often experience sensory challenges.

Our ideal keyboard is the Korg D1 88-Key Stage Piano
guitar Amp
Our current guitar amp has belonged to our founder since 1996. When she started our company, she invested almost all of her own personal equipment into our inventory. We could really use and would very much appreciate a new guitar amp.

A few options for the kind of amp we're hoping for:

Camera
Up until this point, all of our music videos and behind the scenes content has been filmed using a donated, partially functional iPhone. A good quality camera would unleash our crew's creativity and expand our ability to produce high quality content.
A few options for the kind of camera we're hoping for:
Wireless handheld mic
The main voices we amplify at all of our events are those of our crew and their families. Given our wide range of neurodivergent and communication challenges, inclusivity always necessitates crowd involvement - not all of our crew thrive on stage.

If you've been to one of our events, you've likely seen us weaving through the crowd with a corded microphone, causing chaos and major tripping hazards. A wireless mic would transform our ability to interact with everyone and center the voices of our whole crew.

Our preferred wireless handheld microphone is the Shure BLX24/SM58 mic.
